No data from WMR200

Any suggestions appreciated - I have been using my system for many years under WindowsXP. Following an unfortunate meeting with CryptoLocker virus, I decided that it was a good excuse to try out Lynux, and the Cumulus MX 3.0.0 b3030 . I settled on Mint Mate 32 bit - was most stable for me, and I couldnt get Mono to work on Fedora. Now, Im totally new to Lynux, noticing many similarities to DOS from many years ago... A very steep learning curve. I think all the updates have been done.
Now, CumulusMX installs & runs OK. Only problem is there seems to be no data from the WMR200. The Clock is the only item doing anything... Its a totally clean new install.
I have looked at some of the log files - they are either empty or I cant tell what its all about.
Nothing about the hardware has changed from when it was working under WinXP. Its using a USB connection.
Thanks, and sorry for being such a pain...
Paul.

Turn on debug logging and data logging by editing Cumulus.ini, as described here - https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12991 and then after running MX again, zip up and attach the MXdiags folder to a reply in this thread.

Thanks Steve,
I hope that its what you were looking for.
I only ran CumulusMX for about 20 minutes - hope that is enough.

Paul.

It's not finding the station. What is the output from command lsusb? Do you have packages mono-complete and libudev0 installed? Cumulus needs libudev.so.0, as mentioned in the instructions.

Hi Steve, Yes libudev.so.0 might be my problem.
I remember having trouble with that, and in the end, hoped that it was already installed... then forgot about it...
Ill let you know when I sort out how to install it...
Thank

Paul.

If libudev.so.0 isn't available for your distribution, there are instructions somewhere in the forum for using libudev.so.1 instead.

Hi Steve,
Been some time since last on, and Im now reporting success.
It could have been 1 of a number of issues - the libudev.so.0 may or may not have been installed properly, but I think the biggest issue is my lack of knowledge of Linux.
I had CumulusMX installed in its own directory off the Root directory - but it seems that this sort of program must be installed in - usr/bin/CumulusMX .... I still dont fully understand the differing requirements of Linux, but learning...
Also, coupled with no progress meter when the station is transferring data - which can take some minutes - I was impatiently closing and trying something else...

All in all, its working well. My next task is to get it talking to my new website. Ill check through the help file & forum, but if you have any suggestions of interfacing it to a Word Press website, Im all ears...

Thanks for your efforts with the software, and your help.
Paul.

No, it can go anywhere. You then run it from the directory that it's installed in, so it's automatically on the path.

OK Steve,
Then it must have been to do with the libudev.so.0 file.
Anyhow, looking good now.
Hope to have the website running again in a couple of days at http://drivein.net.au
Thanks
Paul.
