WMR200 Downloads Keep Freezing

I have a WRM200 and running Cumulus 1.9.4 under Windows 8.1. This is a new weather station installation and a new PC (PC ON A STICK).
I have used Cumulus in the past without problems.
With my current setup, the download from the WRM200 to Cumulus keeps stopping, at which time Cumulus is "Not Responding".
I have to force close Cumulus and restart it, which is a real pain.
Does anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this issue?
