Length of data series displayed on the trends page

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Length of data series displayed on the trends page

Post by freddie »

Normally the non-daily graphs on the trends page show data for the past 3 days. Today they only show data from 02:31 UTC on 30/08/2015 onwards. Any ideas why? I have looked in the data file (Aug15log.txt) and there isn't a break in the data points.

Mine have only ever shown the last day's trends, and I believe that has always been the case.

The data in the log files is only used if you restart Cumulus, then the data points are held internally in memory. Have you restarted Cumulus recently, and if so are you sure you haven't got a problem in the log file that perhaps you can't see with whatever you are using to view the file? If you zip up and attach the latest MXdiags file and your August log file, I'll take a look.

If you haven't restarted recently, it could be a bug in the code which saves or extracts the data points from the internal data structure, but it's odd that it was working OK previously.

This is configurable in Cumulus.ini - in the "Graphs" section there is an entry "GraphHours". Mine is set to 72, which will give me 3 days worth of data appearing in the graphs. Yours is probably set to 24.

Yes, I have restarted recently - around about the same time I started this thread. I am away from my server at the moment, so will check on log file integrity on my return.

Apologies for the slow reply. Here are the files you requested. The log file looked okay in several different editors. The diags file has been truncated to meet upload size limits.

When it pre-loads the list at start up, it only loads the last 24 hours, rather than the configured period. I'll fix it in the next build.

I've never noticed that before - good spot, and thank you :-)
