Hi Tony,
I have updated, I think!. Still can't use FileZilla so using the webhost File Manager to upload.
And big thanks for taking this on and removing the kinks. Beyond me to understand, but I can trial and error.

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi,

New versions available : I was approached by a very nice chap Scott from Forest Hill Weather : http://www.foresthillweather.com/Extremes.php.

Scott asked if we would like to add a change he had added to the script : Added a Description when there is no data, this was done via a <div> outside the closed off Table.

This worked fine however I had a nagging issue with the original script we had, the way we abort the <tbody> if no Data, this has always resulted in the <tbody> not being closed. It always bugged me as I am a bit pedantic over (xhtml and html5) validation. So I thought yep, use Scott's brilliant proposal but not as a <div>...</div> ouside the </table>, but as a <tr><td>...</td></tr> after the (abort) which keeps the result within the relevant Table section and closes off the </tbody> and in turn appeases validation. Scott was happy with the mod to his proposal so here it is.

Example : Note the Text when no Data, as opposed to original had nothing, just the <table> <header>

Take a look and big thank you to Scott, oh and very nice weather site Scott, love it.

Hopefully it works for you.
Make sure you backup the older version.

I installed this for the first time and it works great.

I did have one issue which took a bit to resolve. With Tony's help we identified I didn't have a cache folder on the server so nothing was displayed. Something for any newbies to watch out for.

Regards,
Trevor

Weather Extremes Script Version 0.9.3 now available.

With reference to Trevor's comments above, I have added cache directory info to settings section and subsequent code to allow the addition.

Hopefully it works for you.

Hi Tony, got extremes updated but need to look at grooming up the presentation with a proper header, etc.

Re the "of topic here so will post new" was on the mention of a Cumulus Users map which we continued at

Code: Select all

https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=175647#p175647
and see there are now several more on your map especially UK https://beaumaris-weather.com/wxcuusermap.php

I got an email from Mike "Bellenden Ker" last week
We have spent the last two days preparing for cyclone Jasper which is due to cross the coast just north of us on Wednesday so we are ready as we can be at the moment we are expecting some good rainfall out of the system so watch this space
From his website, looks like a fair dump

Code: Select all

Sat 12	83.2
Sun 13	139.4
Mon 14	110.0
Tue 15	52.2
Wed 16	60.0
Enjoy,
Paul

Thank you to those who enhanced the World Extremes project.
My old classic version went belly up after I was forced to use php8.
All back up and running now.

Cheers
