<abbr> tag on Firefox 40 showing dotted underline *solution*

I noticed since updating Firefox that my whole Status page was underline with dots..
IE and Chrome were unaffected..
So after a little searching, I found that Firefox now handles the <abbr> tags differently.
Now for those that don't know what <abbr> tags are, they are hover text, so when you hover over a title or text, it comes up with a description.
Try it on my status page
http://ace2weather.com/status.htm
To solve the issue with the dotted line under every tag, you'll need to add a few lines in the css
Just thought this might be useful for anyone having this issue............
*HINT*
hover over the title on that page "The computer system, station hardware, weather monitoring software and data stream current status.
Hover over text for a Description"

Happens to me as well, reckon it is Google or YouTube that is doing it as it is only a user I use on YouTube.

When you rollover the YouTube icon is says "Subscribe to ACE2 WEATHER as XXXXXXXXXXX" which is what I presume beteljuice is complaining about.

Correct ...

YouTube shouldn't have any knowledge of me (other than cookies), although google does know that particular address.
If someone is passing around or phishing my addys I want to know about / stop it !

I've had dots under my <abbr> tags in various browsers for as long as I can remember. Isn't that the point, to inform the viewer there is further information there to enhance the experience? Otherwise you might as well remove the <abbr> tag and just have only the text you want them to see, I don't expect my viewers to run their mouse pointers over every piece of text to see if anything happens!
Just use the <abbr> tag on 'key' words that you want / need to provide further information.

When I roll over it it shows my Google user name.

I would presume that the browser has already logged in on Google/YouTube. If I sign out of YouTube, it asks me to sign in, this is the same for the like button for Facebook.
Nothing to do with the actual code at all...

Yes true, but my whole table on my status page has hover text and I don't like seeing the dotted lines on every thing..

It is asking to subscribe to you with my email.
I am not default logged in anywhere except this forum.
Yet it is lifting one of my email ids from either the browser or 'third party' cookies.
Edit: doesn't lift id with IE8 (I know, I know)

I'm innocent.

I'm not too happy with win 10 at the moment, having a massive memory leak issue...
Have to update WiFi drivers once I get home which they say is the cause.....
Not happy Jan
