CumulusMX local gauges screen

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

CumulusMX local gauges screen

Post by Hobbyist »

I have been trying to get some experience with MX.
I bought a Maplin/Fine Offset to act as a data source.

After setting things up I have managed to get the system running on A RaspberryPi 2 with uploading to a web server so far so good.

When I then went to the local browser using the local ip address I managed to get a local display of the Cumulus gauges and all updating correctly.

I then shut down the local browser but left the Pi running, connected to the Weather station and uploading successfully to the website.

When I restarted the browser instead of the 'normal' gauges layout I am getting this which is a partial layout but for some reason is not correct.

It has occurred several times.

Any one any idea what is happening from this photo?

The cumulus MX files are all stored in the home/pi/cumulusmx/CumulusMX directory.

Thank you

Dave

You should use a modern browser Dilo doesn't support a lot.

Epiphany is a good browser for the Raspberry Pi, it was written specifically for it.

Thanks Ron but it seems to work at first and then die on a restart so it must be capable of running the Cumulus display or am I missing something?

Which is quite likely.

Thanks Steve it is Epiphany that I am actually 'using' but that is what I am getting back in response to my HTTP://192.168.1.98:8998 command.

OK, I see what you mean. There seems to be an issue with Epiphany if you've already viewed the page. Instead of displaying it again, it downloads a copy of the html.

It's not something I'd noticed before, so something may have changed somewhere. Then again, like most people I guess, I haven't viewed the MX UI using a browser on the Pi very much at all, I would usually look at it from my PC.
