I don't seem to notice other Internet connectivity issues here lately. However I seem to get several FTP Timeout errors a day now. Times they are a few in ten minutes then a few two hours later. Times they are not daily.
Where might I look here for possible causes? This seems to have increased starting about three weeks ago (??) more or less. No changes; no additions; Netflix and other night time streaming seem normal fwiw.

Re: FTP Timeout errors getting frequent
I get time outs periodically and unless it is a local isp issue I've found my webhost, GoDaddy, to be the problem. Happened last week on about 3 days.

Re: FTP Timeout errors getting frequent
Error 500 suggests a problem at the ftp server. If you turn on ftp logging, and the server is being helpful, it may have sent an informative message with the error, which should appear in ftplog.txt.

Re: FTP Timeout errors getting frequent
I see an ftplog.txt and remember turning it on earlier.
I "think" I may be sending data to my web-site all too often!
maybe nearly all the time?
looks like I upload and it takes a minute 20. then on the "5" minute I re-connect and upload.
I' would like every minute logged at home. Or really, what I want is the wind maybe every 30 seconds logged. everything else is not so important.
As for what's to the internet, really just every 5 min, maybe ten, and the "" ... thus if I am away from home I can look and see if there was anything important.
guess I didn't set that up correctly
for example

Yes, I'm the same.KD7YZ wrote:looks like I upload and it takes a minute 20. then on the "5" minute I re-connect and upload.
Set the logger interval in Cumulus (and the station as well) to 1 minute. That's the minimum logging interval.I' would like every minute logged at home. Or really, what I want is the wind maybe every 30 seconds logged. everything else is not so important.
You can set the realtime interval for the gauges to a few seconds.
This all depends on whether your web space provider doesn't mind the frequency of the updates, some don't like updates too frequently.

well, that's the point. A minute, here on the screen, is fine.steve wrote:

But over the internet, I think every five minutes is fine, "If" some chart has recent Peaks (seen on the internet web page)
so how do I put it at 1 minute intervals here and every 5 on the web?

Re: FTP Timeout errors getting frequent
The Cumulus data log interval is on the station settings screen. The ftp intervals are on the internet settings screen. To change the station's logger interval to match the Cumulus 1-minute interval, you would need to use Weatherlink or some other software. My 'set logger' utility doesn't support Davis stations yet, but I'm working on it.

Re: FTP Timeout errors getting frequent
It's the Weatherlink software which allows you to set the logger interval, not the WLIP web interface.

Re: FTP Timeout errors getting frequent
Thanks. I forgot about that one.
It was at one-minute anyway.
So I'll check the ftp settings on Cumulus.
