recording lightning strikes

Hi,
I hope this is not too daft a question but will a solar powered weather station (such as the one Maplins sell for £180) with UV detector register lightning strikes?
We are due to have thunderstorms in the SE on Friday night /Saturday morning.
If there is any way a lightning flash will activate the UV sensor?
Hopefully there are some clever people out there who can answer this?
thanks, Tim
