I have an Oregon Scientific WMR200 and my computer OS is Windows 8.1 Pro. Will Cumulus software work on my computer?

It should do, yes.

Thanks. Which versions should I download?

There is only one version - 1.9.4 build 1099. Unless you want to help with beta testing of Cumulus MX - but as you've presumably not used Cumulus before that's probably not a good idea. But it's up to you.

Great. However, I use a laptop. Does the program 1.9.4 Build 1099 allow for stored data to be transferred from the base station to the laptop program on a regular basis? cheers.

Cumulus reads and logs live data while it's running, and when it starts up after it's been closed down for a time, it downloads the logger data from the station to catch up again. Make sure you do not allow your laptop to sleep while Cumulus is running.

I have followed all the installation instructions. However after installation and setting all the parameters, The program downloads data from the base station for a short period before "not responding". Appreciate assistance to get the program to run correctly.

Had the date and time stopped changing in the download box? Sometimes the WMR200 stops sending logger data for no reason, particularly if there is a lot of old data to download, as in your case. It will take quite a while to download it all, and you need to leave it alone while it is doing it - "please wait", as the message says. If the station had actually stopped sending logger data, if you restart Cumulus it should start sending it again until all of the old data is downloaded. If the date and time was actually changing, just leave it alone and let it finish.

Has taken a few days of stop/start data download which has finally completed. However the data available to view in Cumulas only starts from today, the past data is not visible. e.g. on the graphs. cheers.

Yes, that's how it works, see the FAQ - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#I.E2.8 ... er_station

Works well. the only irritation is the repeated "not responding" whilst downloading daily data. Hopefully this bug can be eliminated in future releases. I note the wind is notated in a "F" scale which I am not familiar with. Is it possible to amend this to the Beaufort scale which I am familiar with? Cheers. Tony Nicholas

The "F" number is the Beaufort scale. The "F" stands for "Force" as in "Gale Force 9".

I am also getting the "Not Responding" problem frequently. Can be 3 or 4 hours of uptime when it occurs.
Station is a WMR200, uploading to Windows 8.1 on a tiny "PC ON A STICK".
Title bar of Cumulus says not responding, clock in the Cumulus window has stopped but the PC clock is still running.
Only fix I have is to force close Cumulus and restart it.

Debug.log doesn't show any issues that I can see.
Is there any way to track down what is causing this issue?

It's possibly having difficulty reading data from the console. All I can suggest at this point is to make sure you have no USB power saving sett, both on the USB hubs in device manager, and also in the general power settings.

Having no luck with Cumulus, and taking over a week to get a reply on this forum, I am currently trialing another program - Virtual Weather Station.
It has been running for 3 days so far - with zero issues downloading data from the WRM200.
So your comment "It's possibly having difficulty reading data from the console" isn't much help.
