Dubious Readings and dropouts

Post by david_d_lindner »

I have times where I will get a dubious reading on Weather Underground. It doesn't appear to be showing up on my hardware or software. But on wunderground it will show spikes between the actual temp and the dubious temp.

There are also times when it will fail to upload, and I have to do a manual reset of the receiver to get it working again. When this happens, neither cumulus nor easy weather will read data from the receiver.

Any ideas?

These are well-known problems with Fine Offset stations such as yours. You can use the 'spike removal' settings in Cumulus to get Cumulus to attempt to filter out the 'spikes'. You can use the 'Synchronise Fine Offset Reads' setting to get Cumulus to try to work around the 'USB lockup' problem where the station will not communicate with software. Make sure you are not running EW and Cumulus at the same time.
