So we have moved house and I have finally mounted the system again.
Also have a new server running Windows 7 locally but the same server running my website.
So, should I install and run 1.9.4 or just go for the new MX version ?
Also any recommendations for a sunlight sensor, ta.

...what a question.
even though CumulusMX is still in beta, it is amazing stable.
Why not taking the opportunity to switch house, operating system and weather software.

Yup; here testing new Cumulus MX on a Rasberry Pi 2 for a couple of weeks now and I have had no issues with it. Very stable here. That said personally have rarely utilized the HDMI output / keyboard mouse combo on the RPi2.
Mostly have seen this video output utilized for running Kodi as the new RPi2 does a good job of it.
If you prefer to see Wintel/Intel (on a monitor) check out the new tiny Intel Atom Baytrail computers running Windows 8.1 light. You can just velcro the tiny PC to the back of an LCD monitor. The Intel Baytrail computer I am playing with has built in wireless 802.XX, blue tooth and a wired network interface (along with a wired NIC). You can velcro it to the back of an LCD monitor if you want.
Running Cumulus 1 on a Wintel server box (big) and MX on the RPi2 (small). Footprint is tiny and it uses little power to run these days.

Seems here most popular is to utilize the Davis sunlight stuff.
That said here historically have DIY'd 1-wire sun sensors (still in place).
BTW picture to the left is goofing around a bit and is a moonlight picture.
