Gauges not showing on website
With Cumulus 1.9.4, I had my website working with the standard gauges. With MX, no gauges are showing up. Is there a how to or wiki for MX as far as which files need to be uploaded?

Re: Gauges not showing on website
I don't believe there is any Help/Instructions included in the beta as yet other than noted in the CumulusMX Announcement and FAQ.
/weather/js
/weather/lib
/weather/images for the \image folder files
Enjoy,
Paul
I use /weather where my standard template files are located so I haveIf you want to operate the 'standard' web site, you will need to upload the contents of the webfiles folder from the zip file. The standard gauges are now the SteelSeries gauges. Cumulus MX does not automatically upload the realtimegauges.txt file for this, so you will need to configure it as an 'extra file'. The realtimegaugesT.txt file is supplied in the web folder, use this as the local file. For the remote file, specify the path on your ftp server to the place where the html files are being uploaded, and end the path with realtimegauges.txt. Select 'process', 'ftp', and 'realtime'. You will also need to set "Enable Realtime" and "Enable Realtime FTP" in the Web/FTP settings.

Do I also need to upload all of the subfolders and files from the lib folder?PaulMy wrote:I don't believe there is any Help/Instructions included in the beta as yet other than noted in the CumulusMX Announcement and FAQ.I use /weather where my standard template files are located so I haveIf you want to operate the 'standard' web site, you will need to upload the contents of the webfiles folder from the zip file. Re: Gauges not showing on website
Most of the documentation for Cumulus 1 also applies to MX. As with Cumulus 1, to install the standard Cumulus web site, you upload the entire contents of the webfiles folder to your web site. The additional step with MX is to configure realtimegauges.txt to be uploaded, as described in the MX release announcement.

http://home.comcast.net/~j.quittum/gauges.htm
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I got the gauges to show, but getting syntax error and no data.

Re: Gauges not showing on website
Your realtimegauges.txt file should be here - http://home.comcast.net/~j.quittum/realtimegauges.txt - but that gives a '404 not found', so you probably have it configured incorrectly. Note that for the remote file you have to give the path as well as the file name, as otherwise Cumulus won't know where to put it.

This is how the remote filename is configured. I'm not real familiar with syntax for ftp. Is what I have here correct?
upload.comcast.net\j.quittum\realtimegauges.txt

Re: Gauges not showing on website
upload.comcast.net looks like a host name to me, if so it shouldn't be part of the file path. My guess would be that you need j.quittum/realtimegauges.txt - generally, the setting for realtimgauges.txt would be whatever you have for 'Directory' in the Web/FTP settings section, with "/realtimegauges.txt" appended. Note that FTP servers use forward slashes, not backslashes, for directory separators.

Re: Gauges not showing on website
Some of the Wiki has now been updated to indicate where it applies to both, or to show the differences.steve wrote:Most of the documentation for Cumulus 1 also applies to MX. e.g. http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup.
I have tried to use information provided within this forum, as I'm not using Cumulus MX myself (I only rarely use Cumulus 1 as most of my busy life is based around outdoor activities, but Cumulus is useful when I am indoors and feel like experimenting with code). If anyone does spot any errors I have made, or wants to improve my text... the Wiki is the result of many authors ...
As Steve says (quote repeated above), you needed to upload the entire contents of 'webfiles' folder. Presumably when you did that you specified a remote path (or directory) in your FTP tool? It is that same path that you are now being asked to include in the 'remote filenames' column for the ' realtimegauges.txt' file.millguy wrote:This is how the remote filename is configured. EDIT: Steve has beaten me in replying to this remote path question, but I will leave in what I have typed anyway!

Re: Gauges not showing on website
Got it! Only needed realtimegauges.txt as the remote path.
Thanks a lot everyone!
