Re: download Cumulus MX
I'm in the same boat - no posts yet! (this should fix it) For what it's worth, I switched from Cumulus on XP to wview I got working on a BeagleBone Black about a year ago (sorry). I did this partly due to power requirements and noise from a dinosaur PC that did only this, but I also enjoyed the challenge of getting it to work. I'm no stranger to linux and did all the work from an ssh session, including building from source with a few adjustments (all c code). wview isn't bad at all, but Cumulus is in my opinion superior, so I am quite excited about MX. No offense to wview lovers, I've enjoyed playing with it as well.
I have a Raspberry Pi B+ and the Pi 2 waiting to work. I'll experiment on the BBB as well just because that's what I do... When "done" (like that ever happens) the whole thing, minus the internet part, will be powered by the sun. Cool stuff!
Oh, another reason I moved to the BeagleBone (besides acquiring one before getting the Pi) was to integrate the AS3935 for lightning detection. Having the wview source (it's open, and I was once a unix software developer) was quite convenient. I'm not sure how I'll work this in with Cumulus, but I'll worry with that later.
