Another piece of Pi on the cloud

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Another piece of Pi on the cloud

Post by vk7hch »

Hi, my name is Chris and I live in Kingston Beach, Southern Tasmania. I run an amateur radio station, hence the username is my callsign, vk7hch.
I have been running weewx 2.6.4 on a Pi B for some time now, currently using an Oregon Scientific WMR88A as data source. I have fired a second Pi B with CMX to see how it runs.
This is in preparation for my new system, still in the "purchase/build' phase, a Weatherduino Pro2
I have been feeding data to Wunderground using weewx for sometime now, station id is iTasmani49. I have done a drop in replacement with the CMX system, and it seems to be continuing smoothly.
Only thing that I see so far, and it is probably my fault, wunderground still says that my system is running weewx, maybe there is some cache that needs clearing on their part.
I followed the install instructions, everything went as expected and it worked!
After the initial setting up, ie: telling it that I had a WMR100, I restarted CMX and it crashed, some error about an object. Then I realized that I had not plugged in the USB cable. As soon as I did that, no more error.
The WMR88A was a plug and play solution, I plugged in the USB cable, selected WMR100 in the station settings and off it went.
As the system runs 24/7 I will keep an eye on how things are progressing and make report of any difficulties I meet.
Cheers and thanks for the wonderful software.
