Testing using 1 x Fine Offset

Hi,
Looking for a bit of advice.
I have a PC which is running Cumulus 1.9.4 and has my Fine Offset connected to it. My aim is to replace the PC with a Raspberry PI running Cumulus MX, the PI is all configured and ready to go. However, I do not want to lose any data on my existing setup so if I shutdown Cumulus on the PC, disconnect the weather station and then connect to the PI and start MX will:
1) MX retrieve all data currently stored on the Fine Offset or will it start recording from when it was connected.
2) Once I have finished testing the PI / MX and connect back to by PC / Cumulus set up, will Cumulus 1.9.4 also recover the data from the Fine Offset since it was disconnected or will it only get the data from when it was re-connected. (Assuming of course the test does not take so long as for the Fine Offset to overwrite the data)
Any assistance appreciated.
Thanks
Andy
