Today's rain / Past 24hrs

We had some pretty good thunderstorms roll through tonight, picked up a lot of rain in a little over an hour, after 11 days of 0 rain.
Set new rainfall records today as well because of it.
Anyways, today is the only rain, yet Today's rain and past 24hrs are different.

Today 1.44 in
Past 24 hrs 1.81 in

Both C1 and CMX show the same results.
Since all the rain occurred today, why are the totals different?

Please zip up the mxdiags and diags folders and attach them. This is two consoles receiving data from the same rain gauge, yes?

Correct.
Now that I'm looking it over, it appears that spike removal worked against be a little there.
Right around 20:00 on 05/30 looks like rainday was reset, quite a few Ignoring high rain rate (it was really down pouring!!)

Spike removal was 100 mm/hr for C1 and 75 mm/hr for MX thought they were both the same.

Cumulus (1 and MX) has a configurable threshold for the maximum feasible amount of rain between 48-seconds updates - 30 tips, equivalent to 9 mm or just over a third of an inch. Your station reported just over half an inch (47 tips) in 48 seconds, so Cumulus ignored it for the purposes of the daily rain total (it can't ignore it for the 24-hour total).

You can change the maximum number of tips by adding a setting EWMaxRainTipDiff in the [Station] section of Cumulus.ini.

Did what it was supposed to do, we rarely get heavy downpours like that here, so it could easily look like an erroneous reading.

I'll add that just in case.

On another note, I think I read a reply from you to someone else recently, that Fine offsets store data in the transmitter for a while?
So clearing the memory on the console doesn't erase bad readings from the transmitter.
Reason is, this past month I had to swap out the transmitter twice, and with each restart it transmits bad reading even after clearing the console memory.
Gets a bit tedious copying all the backup's to set things right, so letting it sit for over an hour then starting Cumulus seemed to have worked :D

The transmitter keeps the rain counter, I believe, so clearing the console memory has no effect on that.
