Registering a domain with another registrar

I have my web space and domains all with the same provider, I now want another domain for another project. My provider wants £12.00 per year to register the domain for me but 123-reg only wants £20.00 for 10 years for the same domain.

So my questions, once I have redirected the name servers, is there any slow down when viewing web pages in this way and what does the viewer see in their address bar? ie www.some-domain.uk or do they see anything else associated with the redirect?

It doesn't matter what the name servers are for your domain, it doesn't affect the speed of the site. There is no redirection involved, the DNS system simply uses a different server as the 'authoritative' name server. People viewing your site see exactly the same thing.

Thanks Steve, I thought that would be the case but it's nice to check ;)
