Multiple Upload Criteria
Weatherlink allows you to define multiple upload profiles so some information is updated frequently and other data is only changed periodically. Can Cumulus do this?
Is there a way of just uploading the last 30 or so wind speed and direction readings so I can read the file at 2 second intervals and it looks like real-time but is delayed by about a minute?

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
Cumulus has two upload intervals, 'realtime' is intended for frequent updates and the other (which doesn't have a name) is intended for less frequent updates.laserfc wrote:Weatherlink allows you to define multiple upload profiles so some information is updated frequently and other data is only changed periodically. The only item which contains all of the recent wind speed readings is <#wspddata>, but that holds the last 3600 readings. Otherwise, you would need to build your own list using the speed from the realtime update.Is there a way of just uploading the last 30 or so wind speed and direction readings so I can read the file at 2 second intervals and it looks like real-time but is delayed by about a minute?

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
We are a sailing club and are at the end of a poor internet circuit so weather information is uploaded to a remote server rather than served from the club. Members are most interested in the wind strength and direction.
Because of the connection and bandwidth constraints I have configured weatherlink to upload core graphs every 15 minutes and a 67 byte file with strength and direction every minute. An enhancement will be more summary statistics once a day.
However weatherlinks graphs are rather naff compared to Cumulus and I would much rather use Cumulus. If I cannot set multiple profiles using the GUI is it possible to do it using scripts?

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
You can do the same with Cumulus. As I explained, it has two upload intervals, so you can upload a file once a minute by setting the realtime interval to a minute, and the graphs every 15 minutes by setting the normal upload interval to 15 minutes.
Look at the help for the internet setting screen, and the pages in the wiki about uploading to a web site, starting here - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Website_setup

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
I am having problems making this work.
I have set auto update to 2 minutes for test and realtime to 60 seconds. realtime.txt and my small 60 byte file are only updated at the 2 minute rate. Nothing happens after 60 seconds, what am I doing wrong?
The set up screen is captured in the attached file.

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
Problem may have been solved. Weatherlink set the Davis logger interval to one minute. Cumulus was set at 10. I set Cumulus to 1 and it seems to be working. More tomorrow it's late here.

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
The small htm files now upload at the realtime rate. I had the problem with the log settings and did not realise the htm files generated at the realtime rate are not copied to the local directory, and, the realtime upload is not shown in the status window in the bottom left corner of the main screen, so, the only way to test this upload is by using the live server.
I am now trying to upload wind.png using the local filenames screen. I have ticked binary, realtime and FTP the other boxes are clear. The image is copied to the local directory and I can watch it change at the realtime rate. But it does not seem to be getting through to the server, the two htm files are but not the png file.
I tested the upload using the include standard images tick box and this worked fine all the images were uploaded to an images subdirectory.
Any thoughts?

I think we will need to see some screenshots of the settings or your Cumuilus.inI file (with passwords removed!).

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
Thank you very much for the great tip about the ini file. I looked myself and its finger trouble, the public.... was missing from the upload url. I will have to be more careful as I scroll through the little window.

Re: Multiple Upload Criteria
For the html files you have (for example)
ExtraRemote0=public_html/wp-content/uploads/weather/current.htm
but for the png that you say isn't working, you have
ExtraRemote2=content/uploads/weather/wind.png
So presumably that is incorrect, and should be
ExtraRemote2=public_html/wp-content/uploads/weather/wind.png
Edit: cross-posted
