Does CumulusToolbox require MS .NET?

Post by aznetcowboy »

I have move my complete weather system to a new PC that will only be used for my weather station. However, whenever CumulusToolbox wants to start up I get an error message that it can't find the .NET Framework. I never had this before and find this very confusing. Everything else is running okay, just the CumulusToolbox error and it won't run.

Now to download a .NET file, if I can actually get one from M$ and not one from a site that wants to add on a bunch of unwanted programs like Softpedia does.

Thanks for the reply! :D

BTW, What version(s) should I look for.

Get the latest version as it will get updated anyway.
see here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/librar ... .110).aspx
Depending on the win OS version, you may need an earlier version as well!

Web search for microsoft .net versions and you should get listings from the Microsoft severs for the versions you think you need.

The surprise is that .net should be installed by default for any currently supported versions of Windows.

Ahhh... it is so much fun making changes. I moved the weather station software from my laptop which was running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit to the "new" Refurbished Dell PC running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit as its OS. The weather station will be its only reason for existing. Now I will have my laptop available when I am not at home and the weather station can run 24 hours a day.

Now to get the CumulusToolbox to automatically startup when rebooting. When I try to get it to work that way, it still gets a .NET error. If I start it manually, no problem. This will give me something to ponder in my "spare" time. :?
