Hi Steve, it's me again:

Summary: LaCrosse 2350 - Raspberry Pi2 and Cumulus MX 3.0.0 b3024

Yesterday evening arount 20:oo pm until today morning 8:oo am I can see a flatline in the temperature graphs and also extra webfiles are reporting no change in temperature.
This starts around 20:oo at 14th May and ended without any user investigation this morning at 8:oo am.
Please see the graphs generated for this time

As you can see, only the tempoerature is showing 12 hours flatline, Pressure is showing normal, and Humidity is only showing a short flatline around 20:oopm.
Looking into my April.log file from yesterday evening, I can see that the temperature is varying .
Please see an excerpt of the values around 21:oo pm yetserday

As I mentioned above, I did not change anything this morning, so suddenly at 8:oo am, tmpoerature was reported normal again.
Also the MXDiags File is not showing anything strange around this time.......do you need it? Its large.
This is the second time I faced this Problem. Last time, I restarted CumulusMX and everything was okay after restrat. this time, I did not restarted the Soft so far.

Does the tempdata.json file show lots of entries (i.e. hundreds) at whatever value the temperature line got stuck at (looks like exactly 14C, but I can't really make out the figures on the graph) or does it just jump from one value to whatever the reading was at 0800?

Do the graphs look the same in the UI and on a web page?

A bit of detective work found your tempdata.json file - http://jankreutzer.de/sites/wetter/tempdata.json - and it does have lots of entries at 14.1 degrees. If you look at the correct log file - i.e. the one for May, does that show lots of entries for 14.1 degrees?

to search for entries form yesterday. Maybe in my mind, I am still in April.

14,1 degree for the Temperature.
I which I could delete Forum Posts ....I am very sorry.....I am sure, it is not related to the Software, but maybe after 2 years, the battery in the Sender is more or less to weak.

That's OK; in my mind, I'm still in 1973.

But yes, I think it's likely that was the value the station was giving at that time (or it wasn't giving a value at all, so Cumulus just used the previous value, as it does).

It looks a 'sensor contact lost' for me temperatures from the outside stay the same in this case , pressure and inside humidity are measured by the connsole they don't suffer from a sensor contact lost of the outside unit.

Hi

right now, I faced the same Problem. In the morning at 6:15 am, the
Temperature stayed at 3 C
Presuure changed
Windspeed recognized Wind and messured it
Humidity inside/outside messured

some Minutes ago, I went to my computer and indeed, the Dashboard is still showing 3 C degree (the value from this morning)
but the Weatherstation display is showing the right temperature.
It loks like the Conneciton between the Weatherstation and Raspberry Pi2 is having dropouts...at least for some values, because windspeed and outside Humidity are coming from the sensors outside.
I have to say, I am having a Lacrosee with Serial Interface and I am using a USB2Serial Adapter.

What I did to fix the problem is: Restarting CumulusMX - this is the strange thing.
A Restart of the Software fixed my Problem without doing any modification at the Cable or Hardware. After restart CumulusMx is showing the correct values.

If you have debug logging turned on, the mxdiags file should show the attempts to read the temperature and the result of that attempt. Do you have any spike removal settings for temperature?

so I assume, the debug Level is not high enough. ...and of course, I have Spike Removal turned on, excatly because I have a Serial2 USB adapter which made problems with the old Cumulus Version some years ago, before you had spike Removal in Cumulus.
Spike Removal Settings for Temperature is "5.0"
How can I turn debug loggin on in this verison ? Did not find it in the Menue so I think i need to insert directly into the config?

Okay, thanks for the KNowledgebase Article regarding Logging
Now I added
DataLogging=1
Logging=1

this should do it
ADD: Puhh the file is growing fast

There is a lot of logging for La Crosse stations because of the problems with reading data from them. But I suspect that at 200MB in 5 minutes, it's going to get too big very quickly. That seems like a very high rate of logging, even for the amount that's in there.

Yes, I stopped the Logging right now because I only have a 8GB card......but I will check further what I can do.
Maybe it happens after a runtime of x hours......

Can you check that Cumulus has read the 5.0 spike removal setting correctly? Near the start of the mxdiags file is a block starting "Spike removal:" - can you paste that here?
