Large fluctuations in temps

My temperature on my WS1090 shows large temperature fluctuations only during rainy weather. The stations is 5 feet off the ground away from building and trees. The temperatures plummet to below 0 degree F. to over 110 degree F. I built my own station which in which I attached a photo. Can someone advise me on a fix for this?

Since you say it only happens in rainy weather, I am going to make a wild guess you have water/moisture getting in somewhere it shouldn't.

Do you have dielectric grease on the plug in connections?
Have you extended any sensors and used a coupler?
Is the transmitter covered so water does not run inside it?

I'm not sure any of this will help you, but I am hoping it will give you some things to check.. Good luck with it!!

Hi,

If it's a moderately "old" station (the design was changed some time ago) then it's probably moisture/rain getting into the Wind cable connector. The Analogue to Digital Converter (input signal) was shared between the External Temperature and Wind Direction sensors. This can be a particular problem with an "extended" wind cable.

Also, presumably it's a Solar Charging only station (no solar data) so you should NOT use the Fine Offset with Lux/UV Sensors option in the Cumulus station settings.

Cheers, Alan.
