FTP seems lagging at 90 seconds for one transfer

MY internet seems bogged down so I checked several programs. Cumulus seemed to be always sending or getting data.

So I discontinued any real-time uploads.

Then I monitored the ftp.log to see what the holdup was . It appears I have configured something incorrectly after migrating my domain to a different global server ... thus a transfer of domain pointers and registrar.

I see Cumulus is not appearing to update the time-last-updated. However, as I write, I see no errors on the ftp log and I see in the ftp site folder for Cumulus that there are new timestamps.

What I notice is that Cumulus takes circa 90 seconds to upload. I notice several file-not-found error lines from the FTP server.

Maybe it's a setting I messed up when migrating.

I have a meagre handful of plausible excuses.

Foremost is that, in the last couple of months, I have had a few catastrophic HDD, and their backups, failures. Thus, I was hoping to be, in a way, storing some useful data to reconstruct Cumulus; to save archived data in the Cloud, so to speak.

Another: I am a newbie and it seemed available to upload.

And consider that I barely have had time to get Cumulus learnt and running when I had the final straw with 1and1 hosting and finally got off their world. It seems they allow open-relays and I began getting my emails rejected due to Blacklisting and the Real-time RBL Blackhole problem.

I threatened them several times if they didn't take some responsibility ...knew they would not; so after three warnings, I migrated my web site. A couple days ago I just fdtp'd all I had in the Cumulus folder here, to the new folder there.

What all is required on the server? I will delete the rest now that it is "finally" released to the new domain registrar.

and lastly fwiw, we are calving; flooding due to storms, three times in ten days and I am a little frazzled and easily made cranky. I wanted the Cumulus stuff working again and an expedient way was to run it all up there for the time being.

Then, writing this question, I noticed that, in haste, I'd uploaded a snippet of ftp log with some kinda sensitive data. I saw that the Bing-Robot was in the folder and tried to edit and remove.

now if I could get the program to upload ... oh, it says it is uploading but I see that it is not putting anything into the remote folder.

90 seconds is not an unreasonable amount of time to upload all of the standard files and images, plus the extra files you have configured.

The paths on the extra files appears to be wrong:

You have apparently set 'Cumulus' as the path for the standard files, and that seems to be working:

So your remote paths for your extra files need to be similar, i.e. without the denstarfarm.us/ on the front. However, your Cumulus pages site at http://denstarfarm.us/Cumulus/ are not updating, so perhaps the path 'Cumulus' is not correct, despite the fact that the directory does exist on the server. The path 'Cumulus' apparently does not correspond to the http URL http://denstarfarm.us/Cumulus/. There's no way that anyone can tell you what the correct path is without knowing how your web space is set up.

As an aside, you should only set 'process' for files that you want Cumulus to process to convert web tags into real data. Those ini files do not contain web tags.

Are you saying that the Files-Tab, and all those files I got in there, needn't be uploaded?
I read that, in some cases, one would want to make or alter the Web-Pages. I guess maybe that's what you'd enter on those, or, as the manual says, edit the ini .

They serve no purpose on your web server, that was the point of David's earlier post.

there's something else going on.
If I go to ftp.den ..../index... then I get the screen-shot included this time. If I go to denstar.../index ... then I get the old outdated one.

while it does appear that files are being sent to the correct folder. See the screen shot from FileZilla I just took.

The most likely explanation is that the directory containing those updated files in your screenshot is not the directory which corresponds to the URL http://denstarfarm.us/Cumulus/. If it really is, then there is an issue with the web server where it is serving old copies of the files. Can you show a screen shot of the directories on the ftp server at the point where you have just logged in?
