Issue with wind speed and wind gust readings

Hi,

I have a WS3083 weather station and I use it with Cumulus 1.9.4. I noticed that when the PC is powered off overnight the next morning after it powers on and Cumulus is launched and finished collecting the data, the reading for the Wind Speed and Wind Gust have the exact same value (i.e. the graph lines overlap and appear as one with interchanging colors; image attached in case it helps). This happens only during the time that the PC is off. All the rest of the data that are being collected while the PC is off and get pushed in Cumulus in the morning appear fine. This issue is reflected both in the graph in Cumulus and on the graph on the website where I broadcast the weather station information using the default template. If I exit Cumulus and leave the PC powered on for lets say 30 minutes, and after that time launch Cumulus, I can see correct readings for the Wind Speed and Wind Gust for those 30 minutes that the Cumulus software was not running (i.e. the graph lines don't overlap). Has anyone had this issue? Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks.

Cumulus cant caculate gusts when the PC is off it can only calculate the average wind from the logged interval in the memory from the station this is normal. Ergo both values are the same in this case.

Ron,

The weather station itself has the functionality that it provides gust readings at its display. I assumed that those gust values are stored in the weather station memory and then passed on to the Cumulus software once a communication is established. That's not the case?

Thanks.

Do you have Cumulus calculating the average, and do you have 'Use speed for avg calculation' set? If you have the former set, you might want to try setting the latter as well, that may give you results more to your liking.

Thanks for the information Steve. I'll try a few things with those settings to see if it resolves the issue.
