29-Mar-15 : Duplicate entry at line 853 of dayfile.txt: 28-03-15. Please correct this by editing the file

I looked at line 853, the last entry in dayfile.tx according to the Cumulus Pgm editor.
Also, what is the first error line about?

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
When you looked dayfile.txt, did you see that there was a duplicate entry for 28th March? If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I may be able to see what caused that.
The ftp error is saying that it couldn't connect to your ftp server at that time.

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
I've looked at the diags files that you sent me by private message - please note that it makes things much easier for me if you post in the forum, so I can keep track of the previous posts in the thread.
There's no sign of Cumulus creating a duplicate entry. You say that there isn't one - are you absolutely sure? Looking at your other posts, you have used the WD converter - perhaps that created an entry for the 28th March somehow? Could you attach the dayfile.txt file to a reply in this thread, please?

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
just read the dayfile, via the edit menu, and line 853 is still unique.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Duplicate date entries at 853 and 838 - I would suggest deleting 838.

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
ohhhh-kayyy?! meaning I'm confused how that line 838 got inserted back, in time, up there.
isn't 838 a _valid_ entry ?
It never occurred to me I'd have to search all of dayfile for the dupe. Either that or I read the warning wrong.
Why does it just show up this morning?
Anyway, I just deleted the line while in the Cumulus edit-dayfile section.

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
It's out of sequence, so it's unlikely that Cumulus created it; unless your system clock was wrong at some point in the past.KD7YZ wrote:isn't 838 a _valid_ entry ?
Because the 'real' 28th March entry has just been created, so there are now two entries with that date. Why does it just show up this morning?

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
ok, thanks.
So the wd converter must have entered that, then. And today Cumulus noticed the dupe.
tnx agn

Re: Error Message: Duplicate Entry Dayfile
while u r here .... is it critical to leave Cumulus running 24/7 ?
There are times I shut all down when I am not here. Realizing of course that my web-display of Cumulus output is thus disabled, or not current, until I return.

No, it catches up using logger data when it starts up.
