Is there a way to calibrate the rain reading ON the VP2?

I have one reading today from the NOAA 'can' of 1.33 inc and another of 1.19 from my Davis VP2.

The fact they differ is no surprise as it is nearly always the case. The two are mounted on fence-posts and about 8 feet apart. Noting is blocking either.

I'd like to correct the VP2 reading however see no possibility there. I can change it in Cumulus. I 'tried' in wdisplay but never a single time got the changes to 'stick'. The latter being a problem with the operator's level of dumbness. Me.

I don't think there's a rain calibration setting in the console; you can calibrate the rain gauge itself by adjusting the screws under the tipping buckets.

I will look that up in the manual. I kind of recall trying that when I bought it 3 years ago.

meanwhile I am trying to fill in missing data by using WDConverter.

for my first try, I can not get Mar15log.txt to bring in the data from Mar-1-2015 till I began using Cumulus on Mar 7.

Thus the March data begins on the 7th.

I see all the data from the *.lg.txt from Mar01 to Mar07. Just that I can't make the WDC put it into the new Mar15 file.

But then, I am a newbie and way out of my league so far. I was able to convert WDisplay logs from 2011 to present. They seem to be in the dayfile.txt.

The converter won't merge log files, you'll need to do that yourself.
