I wonder if anyone can help. I have a fine offset waston station. everything worked well for about 6 months now every time I restart the computer I get really way out readings on both rain and wind. just this morning i got wind speeds of 80 km/h and rain of over 1000 mm. I have tried reinstalling the software and it will work fine for a few days then all of a sudden I get strange readings even with out rebooting the computer. The reading on the unit itself look to be correct. question 1: is it perhaps that I am running a 64 bit computer? 2): the batteries are flat ( although the battery indicator says its ok) 3: any other sudgestions

any help would be most welcome as i am now getting very frustrated

Thanks
Shaun

If you are only getting bad data when you start Cumulus up (i.e. when it is using archive data), then a possible cause is that you have set the wrong station type (i.e. solar when you don't have solar sensors, or vice versa). If you get this while Cumulus is running (i.e. not just at start up), then changing the batteries may help. Note that even with good batteries, Fine Offset stations can generate 'spikes', and Cumulus has 'spike removal' settings (on the calibration settings screen) which you can use to get it to attempt to filter out the garbage.
