All,
Windows 7 appears to have crashed while Cumulus and WeatherLink were running, at least when I came to look at the PC it stated that "W7 had recovered from an error" or something very similar to that. It appears to have hosed both Cumulus and WeatherLink during the crash. I have recovered WeatherLink (a couple of files it uses had been corrupted), but I really don't know where to start with Cumulus. When I open Cumulus it appears to be able to connect to the station still (current data is displayed on the screen) but it defaults to the station settings screen, which is missing my station details now.
Should I upgrade Cumulus (running 1.9.4 1085) or re-enter the station details in and hope that it then picks up the old archived weather station data? Or should I do something else?
I'll try to attach a screenshot of Cumulus when I start as soon as I work out how to......
Thanks for any help,
Steve.

You don't have a recent backup to restore from?
If it has lost your settings, presumably your Cumulus.ini file has been corrupted. You could try entering your settings again, and if you're very lucky, none of the data files have been corrupted, in which case it will just carry on. You could try opening today.ini in a text editor to see if it's readable and doesn't look corrupted.

Re: Windows 7 crash has corrupted Cumulus?
Hi Steve,
I've tried swapping in the files from the standard Cumulus backup file, but no luck. That folder does not contain a cumulus.ini set-up file though, which from your post it seems I could need - I've had a look at my backups of the drive Cumulus sits on and I do have an earlier, and hopefully pristine, cumulus.ini file there. I was concerned that my continuous backup settings may have overwritten it.
Should I try swapping the backup cumulus.ini file into the cumulus folder and see if Cumulus starts normally?
Thanks for your help.
Steve.

Re: Windows 7 crash has corrupted Cumulus?
Fixed! Using a backup cumulus.ini file worked.
Thanks for the help!
I need to try and establish why I am getting these occasional crashes, back in late October a crash corrupted the WeatherLink datalog which took some fixing with others help. WeatherLink worked on that occasion and cumulus was unaffected. This time the log itself was fine but neither WeatherLink or Cumulus worked due to corrupted station setup files by the look of it. At other times WeatherLink has stopped working due to a problem and had to close (without any corruption though). The only thing that changed prior to the crashes etc was replacing a Seagate backup drive and software with a WD backup drive and software. I don't see how that could cause an issue?
Thanks again.
