Watson W-8681 Setup

Hi,

I am attempting to use the Cumulus software with my Watson W-8681, mainly so I can upload the data onto a webpage without too much hassle.

I am having a problem getting the Cumulus to work with the station. I've plugged the base unit into my computer, and the real time data shows up instantly on the EasyWeather application, but will not work with Cumulus. I have tried using the Fineoffset/watson option and the EasyWeather using .dat file option, both with no success.

Do you have any ideas?

The only thing is that the station is not currently within range of the sensors. Could this have an effect?

Many Thanks
Ben Ward

Hi Ben

Welcome to the world of Cumulus!

Do you have EasyWeather and Cumulus running at the same time? They shouldn't be! If so, close down EW.

The best setting would be to use the setting for FineOffset/Watson/Del etc

See screen shot on Wiki ... http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/index.php?ti ... ts#Station

Not the .DAT option

If the transmitter is not within range, Cumulus should still download historic data

There may be a problem with the sensors not being in range...

I've noticed that the station sends particular 'out of range' values in this situation, which Cumulus may be interpreting as 'silly', and hence ignoring the entire set of data. If you turn on the debug log, you'll see messages to that effect in there. I'll try to have an experiment with mine, if I get chance.
