For some mad reason I'm thinking of buying a MAC to replace my ageing PC. Has anyone tried running Cumulus successfully in a VM on MacOS X? I'm thinking of using either Parallels V4 or VMWARE Fusion. I'm not sure how good the USB support is in these products so before I commit I hope someone out there can enlighten me!

I currently run Cumulus on a PC; if no one else comes forward to say they have tried it I will give it a go tonight on my Mac and let you know.Has anyone tried running Cumulus successfully in a VM on MacOS X? On Fusion/Parallels -- I bought both and now find that I almost always using Fusion as I find it more reliable, although I see Parallels have had a recent update. Both have good USB support although Parallels did struggle a little with a Webcam if I recall.
More later.

Re: Running Cumulus on a VM under MAC OS?
I was able to successfully run Cumulus on a Mac using VM Fusion.
My setup..
MAC OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
VMWare Fusion 2.05 (running Windows XP as the guest operating system)
Cumulus 1.8.7
Watson W8681 (connected via USB)
A quick screen shot as evidence
I also have Parallels but I prefer Fusion. Hope this helps

Hi David,
Many thanks for testing this - it will be a considerable help with my ultimate decision! From what I have gleaned so far from various reviews, Fusion does seem to be more stable than Parallels.
Once again many thanks for your assistance.
