Re: n25fr Weather Station Maplin
Hi,
Welcome to the forum. What about the external humidity and rain measurements?
All of the external data are sent by the same radio transmission, so if only some are being "lost" then faulty connections are suggested. The little "RJ11" plug/sockets for the rain and wind sometimes do not connect properly.
For testing, you can swap over the rain and wind plugs. Then turning the anemometer should indicate lots of rain, but the rain gauge will need a lot of rocking to indicate any wind. Note that the data only updates once every 48 seconds (when the red LED on the transmitter flashes).
If none of the external data is being reported, then what distance (and obstructions) do you have between the transmitter and receiver?
Cheers, Alan.
PS: Note that the station you have linked does not have a wind direction vane and does not connect to a computer, so it cannot use Cumulus.

Re: n25fr Weather Station Maplin
Hi,
Unlikely, but are you sure that you're not receiving signals from somebody else's station?
The Wind and Rain sensors each contain only a magnetic reed switch, wired to the two middle contacts of their respective plugs. If you have a multimeter or similar, it should be fairly easy to check what is faulty.
At least Maplin are usually good in handling warranty issues. But it might be worth considering exchanging it for one of the computer-interfaced models (with a wind vane) the next time that they're "On Offer" (c £50). Or an arguably better model (with Radio Controlled Clock, etc.) is currently available from Clas Ohlson at a similar price. However, the "touchscreen" models do have a less clear LCD on their Console.
Cheers, Alan.
