Deleting data

Post by dave varner »

I am not a computer geek and I have done some searches but cannot find anything on this. Is there a way to save only extremes if you want to delete other data. Running out of storage space and want to start a new year on Jan. 1.

You could probably get away with deleting the monthly log files prior to the current one - e.g. after Monday, you could delete up to and including Aug09log.txt. But you'll lose some functionality (e.g. Select-A-Graph).

Cumulus keeps backups of the current files every time it starts, you could delete some of those to free up space.

But you're not going to free up much space whatever you do; my data folder for this location is only 10MB, and that's over two years of data with logging at 5-minute intervals. My backup folder is 6MB.

Probably better off getting rid of videos and temporary internet files to free up some space....or add a drive. They are cheap enough nowadays.
