Hi, I have just one station oregon WMR200 connected to the PC via Cumulus. I noticed that the blue arrow of the mean wind direction is very often in the North and the red follows the real direction of my anemometer (and my station).
But there is something to be set? The blue arrow appears to move from the north when the wind blows enough to spin the reel anemometer. If the wind is very weak and not enough to run the reel but only the flag of the direction, the average direction is positioned on the north.
Some have had the same thing?
thank you.
Here's the proof:

Re: Average direction almost NORTH when there is no wind
The average calculation takes into account the wind speed. Please read the FAQ - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_ave ... ns_at_zero

Re: Average direction almost NORTH when there is no wind
So it is correct that the average speed is always north when there is no wind?
But I cause error in the evaluation of the mean wind direction ...

Re: Average direction almost NORTH when there is no wind
The average bearing is zero when there is no wind. This is the correct figure and means "calm". North is 360 degrees.dygon wrote:So it is correct that the average speed is always north when there is no wind?
