Switching from WH1080 to WH3080

Post by nitrx »

Tommorow or in a few days I want to switch from my WH1080 to my new WH3080 :

Question is: Can I simply stop Cumulus detach the WH1080 and attach the WH3080 startup Cumulus and choose the FineOffset 3080 (With light/UV sensor) so the data will continue as it was but now with the UV and Solardata, or do I have to make precautions ?

The rain counter will be different, so you may have to make adjustments for that. Cumulus copes automatically in most cases.

A possible issue is that the format of the logger entries is different, so when it starts up it will misinterpret the entries - if it downloads any. The simplest way to avoid this is to change the station type by editing cumulus.ini before you start it up again. In the [station] section, change the line "Type=5" to "Type=7".
