Help How can I change rainfall data

I have manage to get this superb software running and even put it on my web site with a lot of help from others.
My rain gauge ceased to function so I am 22mm short for the month (Davis Vantage Vue) I have cleared the debris from it and it now reports ok.
How do I change the months rainfall figures on the software and add my lost 22mm, tried various things as per the help file but must be missing the vital bit. :?:

You need to adjust one or more of the daily totals in dayfile.txt, see the FAQ:http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#Where_ ... ls_from.3F
