Corrupt Drive!

Post by Phlerb »

I recently moved all my server stuff (Cumulus, plex, Blue Iris, etc) to a new server. I have an SSD as the C drive and it seems to have had some corruption. The C:\Cumulus folder is missing, and I can't find it anywhere. I did use an app called FreeUnDelete that found and moved a bunch of files, (including one called found.022 that the shortcut to Cumulus seems to be pointint to) but the recovered folders don't have the data.

The odd thing is that right now Cumulus is running, and if I shut it down and double click the shortcut on the desktop, it starts right up. The problem became apparent today when I went to go set up the backups to the NAS, and I couldn't find it.

So, I am now trying to figure out what to do. I have a backup from the old computer on a drive that I can remove and install on another computer to get, but it is about 2 weeks old. I have been using Weatherlink and have that data, and I have been uploading to WeatherUnderground. I plan on taking screen shots of all the config pages so I can re-install, but what can I do about the data? It goes back to Jan 2013? What are the reprecussions of it missing in the new Cumulus? How can I get the missing data back if I can't recover from the bad drive?

Any ideas on getting the info from the corrupt drive?

Thanks for any help at all!
Phil

Could this https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... der#p92441 be the cause of not seeing your Cumulus folder?

Nope, it is not hidden nor somehow not viewable as far as I can tell (I work as IT support teir 3 for a large company and spend all day fixing computer stuff(Mainly SQL servers)).

I was hoping some wizard would see this and tell me how to fix all of this...

Is there a way to import the data from 11/21 to today into or out of Cumulus?

Since it is running is there a way to export so I can reinstall and then import it? Can I import from Weatherlink? From WeatherUnderground? From an export off of the running Cumulus?

I want to make this change asap so I don't have too much missing data in Cumulus if there is no other way...

thanks again

I was able to use Steve's WLConverter.exe to extract the data from WeatherLink and then move via Cut and Paste into the Nov 21 copy of Cumulus I had from the old server.

THANK YOU STEVE!!!

Everything is back online and I can see the new Cumulus folder under the C drive!

I was just typing about that convertor and/or re-downloading from your logger but got distracted. Glad you got it resolved.
