cumulus stops reporting

I use a WS-2080 with the Fine Offset/Easy Weather. Once set up, the software works great updating Weather Underground and I love the interface. However, after a few days or so the software will error out and no longer record data or push data to Wunderground. I will have to unplug the WS, as well as remove the batteries, uninstall and reinstall Cumulus and start all over. Is there a fix I can utilize to prevent this from constantly happening?? Im on my 4th uninstall and restart in 14 days.

It sounds like you have the Fine Offset 'USB lockup' problem - there are many threads about this in the forum, and it is mentioned in the FAQ. Cumulus stops reporting because the station stops responding, which is why you have to reset the console to get it going again. There is an option in Cumulus which attempts to work around it and seems to reduce the occurrences significantly for most people. Select "Synchronise Fine Offset Reads" in the station settings.

Note that uninstalling and reinstalling Cumulus actually has no net effect, and it is the resetting of the console which gets it working again.

hi I have the same problem with a WS3083- uploaded perfectly to the website for several months- then suddenly refuses to upload data from the base unit to the cumulus software. I have tried all of the suggestions- still will not upload. I have contacted greenfrog from where I bought the station but they seem to only want to refer me back to the cumulus forum.
The info on the website has been very popular so it would be great to get it up and going again.
Any more ideas?
I have not uninstalled and re-installed cumulus- just closed it and restarted it.

Neither uninstalling and reinstalling Cumulus, nor closing and starting Cumulus again will help if the USB interface has locked up. It's a problem with the station, regardless of what your supplier is claiming. You have tried resetting the station, yes? This normally gets it going again after it's locked up. If it doesn't that suggests that the console is broken. To reset, you need to remove all power for a few minutes - disconnect the USB cable and remove the batteries.

I recently had the same problem. Check your firewall software and manage applications in your software from low restricted to trusted. Kerpersky had a software update late October. After changing the restriction to trusted, my data reconnected to Wunderground. Hope this works for you.
