AWEKAS?

Post by Leigh Preece »

Hi everyone.

(1.18am - can't sleep - so mess with Cumulus!)

I've read all of the info on here about setting Cumulus up to make a data file for AWEKAS and I've registered.

Copied and pasted the template devised by Lynn and followed the instructions as per:

https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... lit=AWEKAS

- and all that Cumulus makes is an empty html file with the character YPa as the first line - and thats it - the remainder is empty.

I don't think it's Cumulus nor my ftp/web server combination as Cumulus is also making a wap.htm file (thanks Jason!) which is processed perfectly.

Anyone help me with this?

I've just tried cut 'n' paste of the code on that page into a blank .txt (notepad) page and Cumulus formated it no problem ?

Do you have the binary box ticked (not that that should really be a problem) ?

Or have you edited it with something nasty !

I suspect that the combination of cut&paste from the web page and whatever editor you pasted it into, has resulted in a file with html formatting in it, or something similar, rather than plain text.

Thanks Steve and others - it's perplexing - so will have a play with it this evening.

Just a touch confusing but just a small spanner in the works after all the setting up (see other posting) and tweaking yesterday.

Well - how odd!

I copied and pasted the text into Notepad2 - NOT the original notepad or Wordpad, then followed all of the instructions as per the Wiki, etc - and forced a Web Update - and - fixed. Alll I can assume is some problem copy and pasting then saving in notepad or wordpad, whereas the downloaded Notepad2 worked!

Happily updating AWEKAS now: http://www.awekas.at/en/instrument.php?id=5767

Thanks for all help.
