This time it's raining a lot in my country (Italy) and I've just swapped from a LaCrosse staton to a FineOffset... WS1080
Every now and then I check with other meteo stations if my rain / temperature /wind readings are consistent with other ones (as reported by other station more or less near my station).
With the LaCrosse I found the rain was ok, obviously not identical to other stations readings but similar in trend and values.
Now I'm reading a strange trend with the new FineOffset station: all values are approximately the half of the other stations readings... and so it is for everyday in the last week.
I know it could be possible that on my house it rained the half, but It also more probable that there's something wrong with my rain sensor, or not?
Anyone of you had similar issues?

I reply to myself because I'm guessing about the magnetic reed of the rain sensor.
If one of the two magnets could be broken, then I would have half of the ticks, so half of the rain recorded.... probably I have a problem of that...

Re: Rain values always at half than possible correct values
Hi,
No, the sensor only has one reed and one magnet, but maybe the "see-saw" is tilted in some way.
However, it should be easy to test by adding drips of water slowly to the "funnel". The clicks from the mechanism should be easy to hear and each should register 0.3 mm. But the Console display is only updated each 48 seconds (and Cumulus within another 10 seconds).
Cheers, Alan.
