Cumulus Support

I have been getting some VERY EXTREME readings in the "records" section. They are obviously incorrect. Is there any way to edit these readings? If not, it's hard to rely on ANY data that is recorded as being accurate.

Here are a couple of screen shots to show how outrageous the readings are.

There is a lot of information in the FAQ and the wiki and elsewhere in the forum about correcting data. Fine Offset stations are notorious for supplying incorrect data, and Cumulus removes a lot of the false readings automatically - are you using the 'spike removal' settings in Cumulus? Have you selected the correct station type? When did you last change the batteries in your outdoor transmitter?

I am not sure I know how to use the "spike removal" settings correctly. Any help would be appreciated. My weather station is an Ambient Weather WS-1090.

There are instructions in the help - click the help button on the calibration settings screen. If you've read the help and still don't understand, then I'm sorry but I don't know how to make it any clearer. You could try something like 20 m/s for the wind values, for example. That eliminates sudden changes of about 45 mph or more.

OK..Guess I'll just have to live with what I have. Call me an idiot, but I just don't understand it. Thanks for your "help" anyway.

Well, perhaps you could actually make an effort and rather than just whining that you don't understand it, demonstrate that you've actually read the help by asking a question rather than just being sarcastic. The software is free, and my time and "help", as useless as you find it, is given for free. I don't have to do this, and sometimes I wonder why I do. Sheesh.

The code compares the latest reading from the station with the previous reading. If the difference is higher than the value you've supplied for a spike removal setting, it ignores the latest reading.

I am not trying to be sarcastic, and I am certainly not whining. I'm merely stating that I don't understand it. I am really surprised that you have taken the attitude that you have with this question. I have asked several questions in the past, and you have always been more that courteous, friendly and helpful. Maybe I have asked too many questions, but I thought getting help from those who know, was part of the idea behind this forum. Apparently, there is a quota on the number of questions one may ask.

I, and many others, are grateful for the time and effort that you have put into this program.
