Hello all!
I was looking at the Watson W 8681 as my first weather station (I would prefer the WS3650 but pennies are tight at the moment) and had a couple of queries if any other owners could help me out.
Firstly, does it work with the Cumulus software and secondly, does anyone know the recording interval of the wind sensor?
The temp sensor appears to be 48 seconds but this seemed a little long for measuring gusting winds...?
Thank in advance.

It does. I was thinking only yesterday (because of a discussion in another thread) that we ought to start compiling a list of makes and models of weather stations that are actually just Fine Offset underneath (and hence work with Cumulus). The La Crosse WS3650 will never work with Cumulus because it uses a weird serial protocol, and I just don't want to go there!

All of the sensors update every 48 seconds. For wind speeds, it appears that the 'speed' or 'wind' value that it supplies is an average over the 48 seconds, and the 'gust' is a peak value from within the 48-second period. But I have no idea over what period that gust is measured.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

.
Good thing I didn't jump in and get one then as Cumulus compatibility was high on my list of must have features!

I have started this on the Wiki --
Supported Devices
If everyone could please take a moment to add to this list with your own models. I would prefer to avoid saying something like "the xxx range" and be as specific as possible (unless there are too many in a range).
