Error 32701...again

My computer that runs Cumulus and Davis Vantage Pro2 did an auto reboot after an auto update. (Yeah I know, stupid...). When I started Cumulus I got the dreaded Error 32701. I cannot find the problem. I've checked config (I didn't have to...nothing changed) and cables, blah, blah, blah. Again, I need not have done so since nothing changed, only an auto reboot overnight. My Davis station works fine. I don't get driver errors. I'm using the Davis virtual usb/serial port.

This happened once before and after a re-install, I got the realtime data back. Here's the weird thing: the current weather is displayed on my web page, to the MINUTE, but the same information is not availble on the local Cumulus page: all entries except archive entries show ZERO. How can that even happen?

Possibly the COM port has changed. I suggest you stop Cumulus and run Weatherlink (hopefully it will work). Check the COM port number that WL uses, then stop WL and set up Cumulus configuration to use the same COMM port.

The most likely explanation is that you have an instance of Cumulus already running, which is why you get the connection failure code when you try to start another instance.
