It hasn't changed for many years. I don't know why you don't get logged in automatically; maybe something to do with your browser and/or your cookie settings.

If you do not login for quite a while the cookie allowing automatic login is deleted. To reinstate it login but make sure you tick the box saying log me in automatically under the password box.
Alternatively you have turned off the ability of phpBB (the forum software) to create a cookie and therefore the automatic login facility is not enabled.

If you use CCleaner to remove cookies remember to add sandaysoft.com to the keep list.

I do use Ccleaner, have now added sandaysoft.com to the Cookie Keep list. Issue remains.
I have also added sandaysoft.com to the Cookie and site data exceptions (Allow) in Chrome my prefered browser. Issue still remains.
However my Nexus 7 (Android) doesn't Chrome browser remembers!
