New purchase of Oregon WMR88

I have recently purchased the WMR88 and have the base station running o/k. I have downloaded the Cumulus software and have connected my base station. Everything seems to be running great. As a complete novice at this my question is do I need to leave my base station plugged into Cumulus and my PC 24/7?
