Highcharts Heatmaps

I see Highcharts can now draw map data, one of the options is heat maps. Here is a
quick knock up for 2013 by hour of day (edit: now removed) for my station...
There was a thread on doing this before, but using Excel iirc. Can't find it with a search though.

Thanks Kerry, I thought it was you!
A bit less interesting, Sunshine by hour of day (BST adjusted to UTC) for 2014 so far (edit: now removed)
I have embedded the SQL statements I used to extract the data in the HTML

Looking good, Mark.
Daily rain rate might be a nice addition, i.e. for any day with rain you can show a heat map of intensity.

Hi Kerry, maybe we don't get enough rain (ha!), but the rain rate is rather uninteresting visually. It rather needs a log scale which doesn't seem to work when using the heatmap option with 'standard' Highcharts, though they have a demo of it with Highmaps. I have tried to emulate it by log scaling (sort of) the colours.

Hi Mark,
I agree with you on the rain rate when it is depicted over a year. I think the time period needs to be one day. Here's an example:

Hi Mark,
Love the last ‘A little more work gets you this’.
{edit} It actually gives the viewer an excellent idea of your climate. My graph would be the opposite obviously but with nothing under 0 and heaps over 30. Interesting to compare.
Kerry, I feel that rain rate graph needs a day selector. Otherwise you are going back and back and back looking at empty graphs. Personally it does not appeal at all
Cheers

I don’t think it needs anything added to it. It’s a heat map. It actually gives the viewer an excellent idea of your climate. My graph would be the opposite obviously but with nothing under 0 and heaps over 30. Interesting to compare.
Thanks, I'm going to leave it for a while now and come back to later to see what I think. A break often gives you a fresh view.

How about a drill-down from the data summary page?

Sorry I should have been clearer, so to clarify the below:
Kerry, I feel that rain rate graph needs a day selector. Otherwise you are going back and back and back looking at empty graphs.
I meant this page that Kerry posted needs a drop down so you may select a date.
