Cumulus can't upload web files

I have recently created a web site to upload cumulus data. The connection is made etc but the files didn't appear do I manually uploaded the files but they do not get updated. I read the FAQ etc but no joy there. I am unsure why the files are not getting updated and would appreciate any help please. The FTPLog is lengthy so here is a part FTP log extract for one attempt.

It looks like you are trying to upload to the 'root' of your web space (by leaving the ftp directory setting in Cumulus empty) and the server is not allowing you to do this. So you probably need to find out what the correct path is on your server, and put that in the ftp directory box.

Thanks for the suggestion. I moved all files into a directory called 'weather' but it still did not work. Just a thought but the web site, weather.exquisite-image.com.au is a sub web of exquisite-image.com.au and seems to have the same FTP address. I then moved the weather folder to the primary web page but still no luck. I have contacted my web hosting service with the same details as you have and I am awaiting their help at the moment. Will post if I get a solution. In the mean time any other suggestions will be very much appreciated

The only way I could help without a lot of trial and error, would be for you to send me your ftp login details by private message, so I could see how your web space is organised, and tell you what you what in theory you need to put in the ftp directory box in Cumulus. What do you have in there currently?

At present I have the primary web site, a wedding photography site. It's the domain name called, exquisite-image.com.au. There are a number of directories under this web.

Next I have my astronomy.exquisite-image.com.au sub web, which is empty at the moment. Finally I have weather.exquisite-image.com.au which holds the cumulus details. All of the sites seem to have the same FTP of 202.59.111.232.

I thought that by creating a weather directory in the primary web that it would work but that didn't help either. I am still waiting on my host provider to get back to me with a fix so unless you have any other ideas, I'll wait for them to respond. I am prepared to give you access if necessary, but let's just hang on for a little while.

It will only work if you put the correct path to the directory in the 'ftp directory' box in Cumulus, which is why I asked (in vain) what you had put in there. You should be able to work out the correct path from what you see when you log in with an ftp client.

I finally got hold of my web hosting company and they advised me to put in this sub directory. 'wwwroot/weather.exquisite-image.com.au' which solved part of the problem. Now cumulus can access the sub web root directory where the files are located, but now another issue seems to have occurred and that is I get an access denied FTP error 550 when the pages are being uploaded. I have set the permissions on the directory to allow read and write but that does not seem to work. I think I'll be able to solve the issue soon, but I'll have to wait until business hours on Monday as it is the weekend here now. Thanks for your assistance. I'll repost when I finally solve the issue.

After much stuffing around and changing a few access permissions on the web site I have finally got the web up and running. In the end I set the Cumulus web settings to just Auto Update, used passive FTP mode and disabled the UTF-8 Encode.
