Daily Weather Report - Met Office

Please move to a more appropriate location if you wish ?

As many of you know I record the weather data on behalf of the Met Office, I have a manual set of instruments which I take a note of each day at 10am in the summer and 9am in the winter months.

Along with this I have my own electronic weather station Davis VP2 which produces, through Cumulus all my on line weather reports and data

From time to time, mainly when I am at work or away for a day, I need to use my electronic data to check and confirm my Met Office data.

So I need an easy way to check the following at either 0900 or 1000hrs the following values for the last 24hrs or at the time. This matter raised its head while I was away on holiday for a fortnight and the deputy observer had made some mistakes. I found it hard to drill through the data on Cumulus to find what I need to check my 0900hr report

Wind Direction (0900)
Wind Speed (0900)
Dry/Wet Bulb ( appreciate Cumulus cant do the wet bulb)
Max
Min
Humidity (0900)
Pressure (0900)
Rainfall
Sunshine Total
Max Gust

Cumulus shows the recent extremes and previous days values, but at times I need to know what the values are for 2 or 3 days previous. I do look at the data logs and import the months data onto the screen, but this doesnt give me my 0900NCM ( National Climatological Message)

I was wondering therefore if anyone new a way to look at the values I need or would it be possible for Steve to produce some kind of tab that shows the 0900NCM on any chosen day ?

I know there is the "this period" tab to use, but unsure if data showed is 0900-0900hrs or not, I thought a seperate 0900NCM could be developed

many thanks

I think that at the moment, you would have to use the dayfile.txt editor to look at the extremes for any particular day, and the data log file viewer for values at 0900 on any particular day.

'This period' does work on 0900-0900 when that's what you use.

I am judging from the lack of posts from others than no-one perhaps needs this facility ? - if thats the case it would be wrong of me to ask for a personal solution.

Just try and imagine that you have been away for a week and your station has been recording merrily in the background, but you need to go back and fill a report just for 0900hrs each day you were absent.

Does not the chart function from Wunder Underground do what you ask?

Hi - yes it does some of the values I need, but not the complete list

I do like the way wundergound pops up the values as you move along

Many thanks
