Downloading of weather data

My weather station memory is becoming quite full, and I am concerned that it will start deleting the last entry of data soon. I plug the station into Cumulus a couple of times a week to view the data on that.
Am I able to delete the data on my weather station to reset the memory to 0, and the data will remain stored in cumulus from the previous data sets? Thus, not effecting my records?
Many thanks.

You don't need to clear the station memory, it's all handled automatically and yes, Cumulus already has the data.

The memory on a Fine Offset is cyclic i.e. once it is full it automatically starts overwriting the oldest entries, so there is absolutely no need to delete the memory just let it keep recording.
Cumulus will automatically pick up the data from the memory from the point it last ran so you should not lose any data and it will all be held in Cumulus's files.
There is, however, one scenario where this may not happen and that would be where you have the station logger interval (the interval the Fine Offset uses to store data) too low and you leave it too long to run Cumulus. In that case you would lose data as the cyclic store would be overwriting data that Cumulus has not yet downloaded. You can set the logger interval using Steve's program (setlogger.exe) that is available in the Download section to make sure this does not happen, but most people adopting this policy of not running Cumulus continuously would load Cumulus at least once a day otherwise what is the point of storing the data and running a web site?
