please wait...
please wait...
I've read the previous posts, but can't find the answer.
I have a WH1080, and have downloaded & installed Cumulus.
Works perfectly on my PC.
I uploaded the files to my site - http://filter.co.uk/weather.
Everything is fine until the last page.
Then it is a continual ' Chesterton weather - please wait...', without the final load.
Any suggestions?

Re: please wait...
In the CumulusRealtime.xml configuration file, you have:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/Cumulus ... ealtimeURL>
This is supposed to be the URL of your realtime.txt file (as in the supplied file).

Re: please wait...
In relation to Steve's Reply :
Your realtime.txt url is most likely: http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/realtime.txt
But, I have checked this url and have found that, the realtime.txt file does not appear to be accessable, this could mean you have some settings incorrect. I know myself, I had to upload the Realtime.txt file to my Hosting Site & from then onwards, the realtime file has been updating.
If you enter this into the CumulusRealtime.XML File, Realtime Location Line, it should work fine and update at the interval set in Cumulus, Internet Settings.
Regards
Jason

Re: please wait...
There's something I'm not grasping here.
I have:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/Cumulus ... ealtimeURL>
I have three files in the /weather directory:
filter.co.uk/weather/CumulusRealtime.html
filter.co.uk/weather/CumulusRealtime.xap
filter.co.uk/weather/CumulusRealtime.xml
Is this not correct?

Re: please wait...
It appears that you only want to use the "realtime" application and not the more "static" pages that Cumulus provides/allows, is that correct?
The Silverlight "realtime" application that you're trying to use is driven by data in a file called realtime.txt which you have to get Cumulus to upload periodically. That's the file that the <realtimeURL> in the xml config file should be referencing. I know the instructions with the realtime package are rather vague and I'll improve them at some point, but I'd assumed that having my realtime.txt URL in there as an example would be sufficient.
You need to enter your ftp details in the Cumulus internet settings (see the help for that screen, and also the section on 'setting up your web site), so that Cumulus is able to upload the realtime.txt file that the realtime application needs. If you then change your xml config file to reference that file, it should start working.

Re: please wait...
I didn't realise I had a choice!
I obviously can't have either at the moment.
I tried replacing the 'CumulusRealtime.html' with 'realtime.txt', not really expecting anything to happen (it didn't!)
Except it never even loaded the first part.
Do I need to put some other file in the directory?
Where is this realtime.txt called from?
I'm very familiar with ftp, despite my advanced years

Re: please wait...
So if I want a static display that only reloads when manually refreshed, I need to have:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/Cumulus ... ealtimeURL>
in the xml file, and perhaps the 'Enable Realtime' in Cumulus unchecked?
If I want realtime display, I need to change to:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/realtim ... ealtimeURL>
and have 'Enable Realtime' checked?
Does the case of 'realtime.txt' matter?
I see that it is also referred to as 'Realtime.txt'.

You need to configure Cumulus to upload the realtime.txt file (see above).Micronair wrote: Do I need to put some other file in the directory?

Re: please wait...
No - the 'static' pages are something completely different - see the help file.Micronair wrote:So if I want a static display that only reloads when manually refreshed, I need to have:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/Cumulus ... ealtimeURL>
Edit: The static pages are like this:http://sanday.org.uk/weather/
I hadn't thought about it. Probably best to stick to lower case.Does the case of 'realtime.txt' matter?
Ah, where's that?I see that it is also referred to as 'Realtime.txt'.

Yes - probably better to use the forum private message facility. I'll think of a reply and send you a PM.Micronair wrote:Steve.

Re: please wait...
re the lower & upper case - realtime.txt.
I was mistaken - it's all lower case.
I got sidetracked by seeing other files with Realtime components.
Being aware that Linux does not see them the same, I thought I needed to check.
I don't know what I'm not configuring in the settings.
I keep reading but still must be missing something.
I even replaced :
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/Cumulus ... ealtimeURL>
with:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/</realtimeURL>
to hopefully achieve a static display, but didn't.
I can see that it is not right, but don't know where else to edit in the three /weather files

Re: please wait...
It needs to be the URL of the realtime.txt file that Cumulus uploads. For example:
<realtimeURL>http://www.filter.co.uk/weather/realtim ... ealtimeURL>
- if that's where you've got Cumulus uploading it to. Is Cumulus not uploading the file? Have you configured it correctly? Perhaps you could show a screen shot of your Cumulus internet settings?

When all else fails - RTFM!
I hadn't uploaded the swf & other files into the weather directory!
Still not working, but I think I'll get there now!
