My first weather station is the "cheap" Thermor BW990 (sold under the name Bios) which interfaces via USB. The packaged software "Weather Analyzer" is awful. Is it possible to use Cumulus with the Thermor BW990? And if so, anyone know what the settings are?

It's highly unlikely. Basically, it would have to be a Fine Offset station (the other stations which Cumulus supports are all normally badged with the manufacturer's name and aren't, as far as I'm aware, available under other names). It doesn't look like a Fine Offset station, and it would come with 'Easyweather' if it was.
