I seem to remember a detailed article on this project but can't seem to find it via search. Any links please?

I have ordered a new bearing, MR105ZZ as seen on another thread and hope that's the right one; nothing much to loose if it isn't, just £1.41 inc. P&P off ebay.

Just wondering how you get the right orientation for North when you reassemble it. Only have the top down at the moment; getting a bit windy on the roof today so will leave the rest of the unit to a calmer day.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hi Mike,

There are probably some more details in one of the sticky "photos of..." threads at the top of the Fine Offset section of the forum. But it's basically just a matter of carefully prising off the rotor head (using a knife or steel rule, for example) and hoping that the bearing is not glued too securely in place, or even held in by melted plastic.

Therefore, you shouldn't need to "uncalibrate" the sensor at all. But if you do remove the PCB for any reason, then I think the three screw holes only permit it to fit in one orientation. So just reinstall the sensor with the N (or E, S ,W) moulded characters, on its outside, pointing in the correct direction.

Cheers, Alan.

Many thanks Alan; I realise now that the top section can just be replaced in any direction as all the sensors are underneath.

Will look through the sticky threads as well.

Mike.
